DESIGN SOLUTIONS

The 2016 Hagie DTS-10 is a cutting edge machine for a changing industry. Light weight, progressive styling, high performance and segment destroying capability were all in the cards for this machine.

Thanks to all the incredible engineers working at Hagie who made this machine possible. Without the willingness to think outside  the box, adapt to difficult packaging requirements and boldly go where no engineer has gone before, this machine would still be on the drawing board.

FOOTPRINT
A primary design lead innovation on the DTS are the compact solution tanks resting on either side of the machine. The free-floating nature of the tanks are a decision based in necessity. They have to present a clean profile through tall corn, be efficiently assembled, weigh and cost drastically less then their predecessors and nestle cleanly into the DTS footprint.

CATWALKS
Egress and general maintenance access is a key consideration in the design process. User comfort and safety are primary considerations as well, allowing critical components such as fire extinguishers and tool nooks to be tucked away but still visible and easily accessible.

INITIAL SKETCH DEVELOPMENT
The prior DTS was dependable but dated in its segment and no longer directly addressed industry pain points.
Gaining inspiration from rugged sculpted fields, current design trends the Hagie brand language, this new addition balances design, packaging and engineering requirements in ways that will influence the industry for years to come.

EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGIES APACHE
Proposing design solutions that represent a new era in agricultural cab design had its challenges. Breaking down how people interact with each feature and optimizing the proportion, reach and interface layout culminated in the industry wide ergonomic benchmark.

CLIENT WORK

The projects below reflect a history of successful product launches in industries ranging from pontoon boats to correctional facility furniture. With a proven process, any design challenge can be made a successful and marketable reality.
PREMIER MARINE
Resonating with the pontoon boat demographic and defining the corporate brand language effectively was just part of what makes this helm so popular.
JAYCO RV
Jayco is one of the most prolific brands in the RV industry, When the opportunity came available to re design their caps, I made it my mission to create a visual benchmark for the brand.
CORTECH CHUCKWAGON
Designing furniture for "hard use" applications required a pragmatic approach to design. With a thick polypropylene body and high grade hardware. This food cart was built to take abuse and keep food thermally stable.
